JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for candidates who share our passion for providing superior care to seniors and their families. The right person will help shape a marketing program and manage relationships with referral sources, including social workers, case managers, doctors and the broader community. Primary responsibilities will be active external marketing efforts and some resident/family relationship management.

The marketing director is an integral member of our community, working with medical professionals, families and the entire Providence team to ensure prospective and current residents receive superior service and care.

The right person for this job will be adept at multi-tasking and will possess superior sales skills.

EXPERIENCE
Sales/marketing experience in a related industry.
Must have a vehicle and be able to travel within the SF Bay Area.
Must be able to work some flexible hours to accommodate client's schedules.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic and creative wellness coordinator. Responsibilities include supervising caregiver staff, conducting conferences with families to update them on resident's condition, assessments of prospective residents, monitoring changes in resident's condition and communicating treatment plans with doctors, families and caregiver staff, conducting quarterly inservicing as well as quarterly resident assessments and medication management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferably a degree in a medical field (LVN, RN, Psychology, etc.) and prior related experience. Able to communicate effectively with families, residents, doctors and others involved in the day-to-day care of residents.

 
ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION, Santa Cruz Office
POSITION TITLE: Site Director – Santa Cruz
STATUS: Part-Time, Exempt, 32 Hours/Week

Under the direction of the Director of Field Operations, with a dotted line to the Chief Program Officer, the Site Director is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of programs and services targeting Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. The Site Director works with the Association staff, Program Volunteers and the Local Program Committee to deliver the Association’s mission: “To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Program Delivery (75%)

• In partnership with Chief Program Officer, responsible for planning, developing and implementing local programs and services in accordance with the Association Strategic Plan and Organizational Standards.
• Oversee the Helpline and Care Consultation programs in Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties including recruitment, training and supervision of Helpline volunteers Organize office work so that Helpline volunteers can add value while not on the phone.
• Recruit, train and oversee the Support Group facilitators. Maintain communication with the facilitators and provide them with education, research, and public policy materials and updates in a timely manner.
• Provide direct services to families, including information about resources, educational programs, and care consultation, attending to unique needs and cultural overlay of diverse communities.
• Engage families in Association’s advocacy work
• Administer grant funded programs under Senior Network Services, including I&R and coordinating respite program, and tracking data for reporting purposes
• Conduct community presentations, seminars and in-services using Chapter standard curriculums and PowerPoint slides, including Understanding Memory Loss, Maintain Your Brain/Maximizing Your Memory and basic orientations.
• Work with the Chief Program Officer and the Local Program Committee to assess community education needs.
• Schedule, coordinate and oversee community presentations and the annual professional conference.
• Maintain an updated library
• Document units of service, case notes, and all program services and education data, ensuring data integrity for outcome measures
• Utilize CSQEI and LASRmetrics tools for continuous evaluation and documentation of local programs to ensure their effectiveness; reporting to the Chapter on a timely basis.
• Maintain and publicize local program calendar(s).
• Maintaining a general knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related research in the field.

Program Committee
• Recruit and engage volunteers who are interested in serving on the local program committee, and ensure at least one two representatives for the Chapter Program Committee.
• Work with the Local Program Committee to plan, develop and implement the annual education conference.
• Work with the Local Program Committee to strengthen and grow the programs and services in the Santa Cruz area.
• Evaluate local programs and services with the Chief Program Officer and the Program Committee, on a quarterly basis.

Outreach/Public Awareness (25%)

Memory Walk
• Actively participate with Associate Director of Special Events and the Special Events Manager, and collaborate with the Monterey Office, to expand revenues and public awareness for the Monterey Bay Memory Walk. Support focus on Memory Walk as a primary vehicle to engage families and professionals in the movement to defeat Alzheimer’s.
• Ensure close partnership with the Chapter Development Team to cultivate new donors, including individuals, foundations and corporations
• Strengthen volunteer participation in the Santa Cruz Memory Walk and ensure at least two local representatives for the Chapter Development Committee

Community Outreach Network
• The Alzheimer’s Association intends to be a good partner with all kindred non-profits in our territory. Establish and expand partnerships with health and community based organizations and government entities
• Identify opportunities to collaborate and further development relationships with community agencies and ethnic community providers to promote awareness of the Alzheimer’s Association and our mission
• Oversee the Alzheimer’s Association participation in community events.

Volunteers
• Develop and expand the program volunteer base, including identification, recruitment and training of program volunteers.
• Provide ongoing support for the volunteers.
• Coordinate an annual Volunteer Recognition Event

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL REQUIREMENTS and EXPERIENCE
• Masters degree in social work or related field
• Familiar with dementia services, care-giving issues, difficult behaviors, latest research, and the role of education, public policy, and technology in the future of dementia care
• Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse communities
• Demonstrated supervisory skills
• At least two years of experience working with family caregivers and/or persons with dementia
• Strong Public speaking skills
• Computer skills: MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
• Bi-lingual skills desired

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED
• Self-starter and willing to take initiative and ensure follow-up
• Pro-active constructive approach to solving problems
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
• Willingness to travel in Northern California and nationally as required
