 Senior Round Table Hosting Confirmation

Hello,
Thank you for participating in this great marketing opportunity. I just wanted to send you this confirmation with the date, time, and general meeting logistics. Please read the following and contact me or any of the committee members if you have any questions.

Date- Nov. 13th, 2008
Time- 8:00 a.m. to (aprox.) 10:00 a.m.
The room should accommodate 50-60 people in a theater style setting. It is optional to set up with a dining room style setting if you have the space.
A podium or table & a PA system should be available for the speakers if there is a need for additional equipment you will be notified in advance. Please let us know in advance if you do not have these things available.
If applicable, please provide any signage needed to direct attendees to parking or meeting locations  (also provide advanced notice if there are parking constraints or costs)
-2 to 3 large tables should be set outside of  the room for attendees to sign in, get a name tag and display their brochures and information
-Please provide name tags and pens for attendees, if possible.
-Most hosts will provide Coffee service, other drinks (juice water) as well as a continental breakfast for attendees. Others choose to provide a full breakfast buffet. If you can not provide any breakfast at all, we may be able to arrange for someone to sponsor the breakfast portion. Please give us advanced notice if you will need a sponsor.
-Several hosts have been providing a raffle prize to be drawn for at the end of the meeting. All the business cards and information will go to the host after the raffle. If you can not provide this we may be able to find a sponsor. Prizes have ranged from a worth of $50 to $250, but there is no minimum or maximum worth requirement. Please give us advanced notice if you need a sponsor (if a sponsor provides the raffle prize, the business cards collected from the raffle entry will go to the sponsor of the prize).
-At the beginning of most meetings the host will introduce themselves, their establishment and services as well as any staff that they would like recognized and also inform the attendees of the raffle prize (if the host sponsors that prize) This introduction usually lasts a duration of only for a couple of minutes. Then the host or SRT committee will also introduce the speaker. (optional and all based on time permitting)
-The host should have staff available for questions or tours following the meeting

Please visit the Senior Round Table website at http://www.seniorroundtable.com for additional information, including committee contacts. Thank you again for your participation. We look forward to visiting your wonderful establishment.

I have an interactive presentation, partially based on research, on women (55-75 yo) using technology (or not).  I gave it at Peninsula Volunteers members and it went over really well.  I would adjust it to reflect the Senior Roundtable audience, which for the most part is more technology savvy.  The gist of it is we can really use technology to keep ourselves independent.  Is this something you think would be of interest?

It was nice talking with you this morning. I have contacted Susan Huff, Executive Director of Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council and she was in agreement that holding a meeting at the senior center would definitely work and was happy to have us work together to sponsor a meeting. Since you mentioned that we would have to look at 2012, she was open to dates. I am thinking February or March if that works for the SRT calendar.

I look forward to hearing from you regarding the date and what requirements you may have to make this all happen.

Please let me know what month this year would be available for Villa Fontana to host the Senior Round Table.

We would really like the summer months or spring. I am aware these months are probably already

taken, but I thought I’d try anyway. Still want to know what is available.

Thank you,

Subject: Senior Roundtable

Hi Steve,
I would like to make a suggestion for a speaker at the Senior Roundtable.
Recently, I had Janet Berry speak at the San Jose Senior Commission sub-committee meeting. Janet is a Deputy District Attorney in Santa Clara, and she prosecutes Elder Financial Abuse cases.
Her presentation was great. She discussed some of the most common elder abuse scams, ideas on how seniors can protect themselves, and what those working in the senior services field should be looking for and be aware of when assessing whether an individual is a victim of Elder Financial Abuse.
Janet's goal is try and speak to as many groups of possible and start the discussion surrounding Elder Financial Abuse. Please let me know if this might be of interest to the group.
Thanks!
Nancy

My name is Rina Sutaria and I'm the Outside Sales Account Manager at Easter Seals Bay Area where we provide aquatic therapy to seniors and the disabled. I attended the Round Table event at O'Connor Hospital yesterday and was impressed by the group! What a great way to network and learn more about other organizations that offer services for seniors.
I would really love the opportunity to be a guest speaker at one of the Santa Clara County Roundtable events. I know that your venues have all been finalized but I see on the website that you need speakers for some of the meetings.
Please let me know which dates are available. I look forward to attending future meetings and learning more about other organizations.
Thanks,
Rina

If you ever want me to show a 25 min. documentary I made about a 5 generation family of females from age 8 to 103 (she died at 104), I'd be happy to talk about it as it's inspirational for professionals to see a family of caregivers that love and care for each other and the wisdom they impart to share with our clients.I've shown it to many professional groups, caregiver groups and college classes.Vivian I. Hi Steve, I am writing to find out if you need speakers for the round table. Here at Idylwood care Center, Sunnyvale, we have been developing a horticulture and culinary program along with an organic garden, as a part of a cultural change emphasis in our facility. Next month the program will be getting national attention when the publisher ActionPact brings out a new publication about our program.
Franco Diamond, our administrator would be happy to speak at the round table. Please call me on 408-739-2383 if you would like to arrange me to arrange this. I think the round table group would find his talk very stimulating and interesting.
Thanks, Pauline Wakeham, LCSW
